Using an ACTUAL PATTERN!

Tried using a pattern to make something for Amelia - The Madison Dress from Yeppar on etsy. I shortened it into a top and omitted the pocket. I learnt a lot about sleeves and using binding. The material was an old work short of Duncan's that had a torn collar, but the fabric was too lovely to throw away. I am really pleased with the results... and Amelia loves it.

Little Raglan Tops

I have made a few simple little jersey raglan tops from jersey, cutting the sleeves short and shirring the neckline rather than gathering with elstic. They are soft, comfy and so quick and easy. and a perfect recycling use for old men's t-shirts! I embelished this one for Lucy with a hibiscus type flower applique - i love tone on tone!!!

Culottes

I made some cullotes for Amelia - I drafted the pattern from a pair of similar shorts she already had, just adding a bit of length and volumne. I actually either madethem too big, or put too much elasic in the back as they turned out a little too big and i had to sew elastic to the front too - so they arnt flat fronted as I had hoped - but I love them. The material was a hand me down dress that was stained but not quite ready to be thrown away!!
